Bratwursthausle in Nuremberg

A classic when I'm in Nuremberg. Have been a guest for 15 years and I'm still convinced, only the prices have risen over time, which is still worth it to me.

BEST (in my opinion) place to get Nuremburg sausages or Bratwursts whatever you call them. They have an amazing lite Smokey taste. pair them with sauerkraut and mustard and a good German beer you well have a winning combo!

A very rustic and quaint restaurant. The special thing is the cooking island in the middle. The staff is very friendly and can tell many stories from the city. There are typical dishes from the region, which are freshly prepared in front of your eyes. The prices are more than fair !! :) Thank you for the great evening!

Great lunch special of 3 Nuremberg classic sausages on a bread roll. We paired that with a side of sauerkraut, rotbier and weisen. Located centrally to the city and within walking distance to Nuremberg Imperial Castle.

Cozy inn with simple but tasty dishes. The sausages tasted very good. The staff was attentive and friendly.

It's always popular and I think it's the most delicious Weisswurst in Germany. It's right next to the church (store name bei St. Sebald), easy to access and beautiful at night. We recommend Nürnberg Bratwurst. (January 2nd year of Reiwa)

Very popular with the traditional local food and beers. It's always very crowded but but must try place.

Historic and characteristic place in the heart of the city. Typical Bavarian dishes served with speed and efficiency. Staff a bit rushed.

Service personnel is unorganised and unfriendly , the food is good. The only good thing is the location. I would not go there again

Delicious Nuremberg sausages !! The Schäuferle was also good, but the dumplings were not quite done inside - but good in taste. Staff deserves 5 stars.

The waitresses are very friendly and quickly process orders. If you have a seat outside, you can look out over the town hall of Nuremberg, the Sebaldus Church and the main market. The selection of dishes is manageable and includes not only the classic Nuremberg sausages with sauerkraut, but also "Saure Zipfel" (sour pickled Nuremberg sausages), pork knuckle and tongue. The small number should not be judged as negative, but fits the concept and the focus on tourists as the main customers. In terms of taste, the food is very good and the size of the portions is sufficient, although one or the other guest should have preferred a little more bratwursts, especially with the Nuremberg sausages. You can pay here both in cash and cashless (giro and credit card).

Yes - the sausages are delicious ... the beer delicious! Yes - outside you can sit relaxed and admire the church and the other historical buildings from there.

It wasn't bad. The bratwurst were really good, a different taste than usual but delicious because they are grill + glass of wine, which was good as well + potatoe salad. Price is good too. But the service... weird, the woman didnt want me to pay with card and I didnt spend 10€, whatever I paid in cash, no problem for me, but I won't go again. I have experienced much better service.

Very friendly and efficient staff. I have been going there for decades whenever I am in the area. It's an experience that calls for repeats. Their brats are the best!

Sausages how I like them.

Very tasty sausages and the sauerkraut is also a poem. We received extremely nice service and advice. Incidentally, not only tourists go here, the Bratwursthäusle has been recommended to us by locals. By the way, you sit very nicely, inside and outside.

If I am asked what gastronomic wonders call me to Nuremberg, I will answer that it is baked pork shoulder, sausages and beer. In 1516, the law "On the purity of beer" was passed, so this drink is special in this city. But, this establishment is popular thanks to sausages, in the morning there is a queue for a burger with sausages, which are cooked on an open flame in the middle of this house. So many locals have breakfast on the way for their business. If you have time, you can eat in the middle. But in the morning, as soon as this establishment opens, nothing but food is served except pretzels and sausages of one kind. It is better to take more sausages. Prices are average for Nuremberg. In fact, the sausages did not impress with the taste, hoping for something more. Will you want to visit this place again? Maybe in the evening, when there may be more choice, but I'd better try another place. For example, the one where pork shoulder is served and more variety of food and drinks.

The owner has changed. After decades. We were excited. So the sausages tasted similar. A matter of taste. The bread basket may have fallen victim to Corona. But a hint from the waitress would not have been wrong. The waiting time for the food was too long. The overall impression was - mixed.

The location is really easy to get to! The convenient transport links mean that I can quickly go on a meal trip, and I've never had a meal there that wasn't warm on the table. The selection of drinks also leaves nothing to be desired. The restaurant is always fine and we had a great afternoon there. Not only the attentive staff was the absolute bestseller during my visit, but also the great atmosphere.

I put a star because zero was not possible. We took the pork shank and they brought us a pre-cooked shank which I would have done much better at home. We were expecting the classic shank with a crunchy crust but not the exact opposite, a shank of those that you buy at the supermarket in bags to put in boiling water. Never again a bad experience !!! Ps: if you are expecting German beer well forget it because even that is not.

I agree here. The atmosphere is nice and the waitresses are very friendly today. But for us as tourists the price / performance ratio wasn't right. We have also experienced differently. Sausages delicious ... Potato salad i.m.E. refined (?). The next time we'll eat a sausage on hand ;-)

This is our favorite place to get Nuremburg sausages to go. The Smokey taste wins us over every time! To order, walk inside, pay for your sausages at the little window and then go into the restaurant to pick them up - fresh from the grill!

After a few years I visited the Bratwursthäusle again today. The staff is extremely friendly and very attentive. The hygiene regulations in times of COVID-19 are adhered to in an exemplary manner. Due to the small but fine selection of dishes, the food is served just a few minutes after ordering. In terms of speed, only the small restaurant chain Karne Garibaldi in Guadalajara, Mexico is faster. The food itself (10 grilled sausages with sauerkraut) was very tasty. So 5 out of 5 stars for the entire staff of the Bratwursthaus 👍

This restaurant is over rated. Sausages taste just like any sausages you can brought in grocery and grill them. And the portion is so small and overpriced.

We are tourists in Nuremberg for the first time. Beautiful city. Finally real Nuremberg sausage with sauerkraut and beer. Delicious. Staff very friendly.

To the waitress working outside this evening (50ish, greying hair): YOU ARE SO RUDE! You are responsible for this 1* review and us walking away. Who on earth do you think you are, with your horrendous attitude, as if you own the restaurant and we are scum?! Good luck in the future when your actions catch up with you!!

Very crowded but authentic German food

Nuremberg in Nuremberg a must. According to the restaurant, the last real ones. Smoky in taste. We have found that other Nuremberg residents - also here in the north - do not need to hide. Schauferl nice crisp and harmonious. Outside seating rather uncomfortable. A long stay is not the plan.

If you come to nuremburg as a tourist, this place is the place to go to get nuremburg sausages...here unlike other restaurants they don’t use electric grills, they use charcoal to make their sausages and there is a distinct difference in their taste. All in all this is a must go place in Nuremberg, their rules about to go food and other things are a bit weird and decrease the overall experience.... Still a good place to eat at

Its a must to visit this place, take from 4 to 20 sausages. All of them super tasty. Sometimes they even use a heart plate. Very friendly service

Good beer, fair prices for Bavaria

Tasty 😍. Easy food, fast and friendly service. If you want a short and tasty Bayerische food taste, go for it. For me the only tiny complaint would be the sauerkraut, which, for me, it is not sauer at all. The beer is also very good 🥳 Location: wonderful!!

Good food nice people

After a few minutes on Google we decided to come here to try the Nuremberg bratwurst. We came just after Christmas so it was quite cold. The outer area wasn't set up and there was a line out the door. Turns out there are two lines, eat in or takeaway. We opted for eating in and had to wait about 10 minutes to get a table. Inside it was really interesting. The kitchen was in the middle of the restaurant with tables and chairs all around it. You could smell the grilled food outside as well as in and the open kitchen added to the atmosphere. It was packed. We shared a table in the corner with a couple who were already eating. They had menus in different languages and we had one in English. The menu is fairly simple, the number of Neuremberg Bratwurst you wanted (they also had other items like other types of sausages and pork knuckle) and sides. They put a bread basket on the table if you wanted extra bread. They also had condiments like mustard on the table. The sausage was delicious and surprisingly the potato salad was also really nice. It was nice having the sausage alone with the potato salad or with bread. it was delicious no matter how you had it. It was a really cheap and tasty meal (8.50 euros for 6) and really delicious. It's worth a visit but just be prepared for a line.

Inexpensive, unremarkable food, unremarkable service. They charge you for the bread without alerting you before, something which I find extremely stingy. Would not recommend at all.

Fantastic atmosphere. Especially in winter. Warm and cozy. Great food. Everything we tried was very tasty. We enjoyed it very much. Our waitress was lovely. Would definitely go back
